JULY 7, 2008 - Open Forum
Beginning in August, the Gananoque Minor Hockey Executive will introduce the Open Forum.
What is it?
- This is an opportunity for members of GMHA to present their ideas, proposals or concerns to the GMHA executive.
Why is the executive doing this?
- To respond to members concerns in a more timely manner.
- To increase GMHA member’s ability to approach the executive.
When will it happen?
- The first 30 minutes of each executive meeting will be devoted to 3 – 10 minute blocks for Open Forum.
- Members of GMHA may reserve a 10 minute block to speak to the executive members directly.
How do I take advantage of the Open Forum?
- Contact the Secretary, Marilynn Thivierge at marilynngt@hotmail.com to reserve a time.
- The Open Forum is for any member of GMHA.
Are there any guidelines?
- You are limited to 10 minutes from start to finish.
- It is suggested that you have a written copy of your proposal to leave with the executive for consideration.
- Please understand that this is a presentation and the executive members may ask questions for clarification.
- Do not expect a solution or answer that night. If the issue is of a critical nature, it will be placed on the agenda for that night’s meeting. If the issue is not of a critical nature it will go on the agenda for the next GMHA executive meeting.
What kind of proposals would I take to the Open Forum?
- Ideas or suggestions for fundraising
- Ideas or suggestions for improving hockey.
- Concerns regarding hockey operations.
- Other things we may not have thought of.
